HEARING ON THE MILLER BILL Ottawa Ont February 1 This mornings hearing on the Miller bill to prohibit bookmaking but not individual betting was taken up with evidence relat ¬ ing to conditions in British Columbia Hon Mr icniploman minister of inland revenue whose home is in Victoria F S Barnard inemKr of Parliament for ictoria and G II Cowan member of Parliament for Vancouver all testified that undesirabli condi ¬ tions arose from thi hundred and over days of racing at those two points last summer but wen of the opinion that thero would IK little objection to race meetings of reasonable duration Thcv won put on titf stand by tlu supporters of the bill and proved what its opponents coincide in that there should Iw a limit to the uumbvr of racing days at any meet
