DEKBY MAY BE RUN LATER THAN USUAL Louisville Ky February 17 John Ilachmeister treasurer of the Latonia jockey Club and the per ¬ sonal representative of Captain C A Tilles has re ¬ turned to Magnolia Springs Ala to remain until March C CCaptain Captain Tilles and Mr Hachmeister have dis ¬ cussed the advisability of running The Latonia Derby later in the meeting Instead of having it decided on the opening day as has been the custom for years AVhile they have not yet arrived at a deci ¬ sion it is more than likely that this will be done doneIn In speaking of tho recent sale of the Latonia track to Captain Tilles Mr Hnchmeister stated tliat all parties interested were satlslled and that he thought a successful meeting would be held in tin spring He said There will be a Derby and other stakes offered next spring and the value of the purses will conform with existing conditions AAe appreciate the fact that to get the i eople to attend the races we must get good iibrses and to get tin best racers we must offer good purses
