LEGISLATIVE MOVEMENT IN CALIFORNIA San Francisco Cal March 8 The now organiza ¬ tion of California horsemen formed to seuk legisla ¬ tive relief from the oppressive provisions of the WalkerOtis law will be known as the California Harness and Stock Breeders Association AssociationA A L Scott of San Francisco was unanimously chosen president for the year and the following men representing all sections of the state divide the other honors First vicepresident George L Wur low of Fresno second vicepresident W A Clark Jr of Los Angeles third vicepresident S B Wright of Santa Rosa treasurer F L Mathers of San Francisco secretary W J Kenny of San Francisco The committee on constitution and by ¬ laws is as follows Senator Rush of Sulsun Dr Ira Dalziel of San Francisco S B Wright of Santa Uosa G L Warlow of Fresno F L Mathers of San Francisco and F J Sinclair of San Francisco FranciscoThe The following preamble was enthusiastically adopted by the convention at which the association was launched We launchedWe horsemen and stock breeders of California being aware of the great benefit bound to accrue to us from united action in the matter of legislation and otherwise do hereby associate ourselves together for the purpose of fostering our particular interests where possible obtaining favorable legislation righting wrongs and guarding with zealous care every feature of the horse industry industryWe We believe that proper recognition of our rights can only be continually secured by such organization and that by It all claims for consideration ema ¬ nating from an authoritative source representative of our Industry will alone secure such hcniiUs for it as we believe it to be justly entitled to toWe We believe further that such organization will strengthen a deserving cause state wide in its interests and enable it to obtain such legislation as is required to insure the active growth and develop ¬ ment of such interests to and for the benefit of all concerned in this organization
