May 26. — King Olympian and Bob R. were the ouly winners at Belmont Park today that were not favorites. King Olympian scored his victory in llie fifth largely by reason of lieatiug the barrier, while Bob K. was lucky to 00BW through • n the rail iu the stretch in the last race. The feature or the dav was the Van Cortlandt and served as the final of King James for the Brooklyn. His performance was a remarkably good one. when, under 12!» iKMinds, he finished out the mile in 1 :: "*. equaling Fashion Plates time in the Metropolitan. August Belmonts Priscillian set a hot pace and went the first five-eighths in BM, but King James passed him in the stretch to win with ridiculous Jockev Shilling won half the card, for besides riding King James, lie had the mounts on Antenor and Warbler. Antenor owed his victory to the ride he received, for Colston was easily best. It was a case of Shilling outriding little Thomas when it narrowed to the final duel. The steeplechase was a farce, when all but Grandpa and Jimmy Lane were withdrawn. Grandpa, ridden by Mr. Page, cantered in front all the way to win easily. S. OL Hildreth today purchased from John E. Madden a subscription for Novelty in the Saratoga Special. ___
