She was ridden by Musgrave, dashed to the front soon after the start, sinil was thereafter rated along in the lead. Solid Comfort is a compact, speedy and game little rilly, and looks like one of the beat of her age racing on the circuit. The history of the Niagara Stakes is shown In the table below: Year. Winner. The biggest upset of the afternoon came with the running of the sixth race, which went to Jennie Wells. The latter was one of the outsiders in the betting, came from behind in the stretch to get up iu the tinal stride, and beat Martin Beyle a nose. The races were run over a traek that deceived many of the form students. It rained hard early this morning and again before the first race, but the ground was so dry that it quickly absorbed the moisture, and the going was improved rather than harmed by the showers. Fair time was made in the different races and the absence of dust was math appreciated by those present. 0 COrge M. llendrie. who came over from Detroit to attend a meeting of the Canadian Haeing Asso-riations. announced that the Windsor Driving Iark Assoi-iation had decided to eliminate track messengers and dollar books in future. Every effort is being made by the club to make the racing at Windsor high-class, and with this end in view, the plant has beeu biautilied and improved in many ways. The inconsistent running of Class Loader has resulted in further entries from !. H. Marlmau bidm; refused. The secretary was instructed to refuse in future the entry of Lon Johnsons Torn Hayward on the same grounds. S. A. Clopton will in future handle the horses owned by B. J. Allison. Included in this lot Is the useful horse Orbed I. ad. Jockey T. Hawes. recently signed by Henry Mc-Daniei, had his first mount this a fternixin. He rude Flying Squirrel in the third race and was beaten a short head by Catroke. Hawes looks like the sort to develop into a capable rider. The Canadian Hieing Associations at a meeting this morning suggested that the Niagara Hacing ssoriation provide another steeplechase 011 Saturday in place of the fiasco run on the opening day of the meeting. It was further suggested that the club pay all joekov mounts in bath races.
