RACING GOSSIP FROM LEXINGTON. Lexington. Ky.. August .11. — The racing stables of W. Tanks and Kimball Patterson arrived at the Kentucky Association track today from Sara toga. Col. W. F. Applogato. who is interested with Mr. Yanke in the ownership of Hound the World and other horses in that string, arrived at mmn. He had selected Novelty to win the Futurity today and when the result whs announced lie was much gratified. "Bashti." he said, "beat ltound the World in the east, but I am still of the opiuioii that we have the liettcr atly. The stables of J. W. May. Walter House anil John T. Ireland are due to arrive here from Saratoga tonight. Crack superintendent James P. Koss. who went to Saratoga and Windsor soliciting entries to the stakes that close tonight, returned last night, expressing entire satisfaction witli the result of his trip. Secretary Shelley says the entries are coming in satisfactorily. Arthur Hancock of the Ellerslie Stud has returned to his home ai DpaervUle. Va.. after a Weeks visit with Mr. Hancocks relatives at Paris. George Lines took tip eight yearlings today and will break them at his farm.
