GOOD PRICES FOR YEARLINGS. Average of 45.75 Obtained for 67 Head on First Evening of Lexington Sale. Lexington. Ky.. September 21. — The Kentucky Sales Companys auction of thoroughbred yearlings, horses in training and hroodniures was begun last night in Horsemens Headquarters with the sale of 17 yearlings for an aggregate of ?22. 105. representing an avenge of 46.75. The bidding was brisk and the statu- of the market was belter than it was generally sti| sed it would be. The tirst 25 head sold were consigned by Messrs. Milton Young. John D. Can and Thomas Piatt. Before the sale opened these three consigners. In discussing the probabilities, made the statement that they would be entirely satislied if the 28 head averaged 50. They averaged 58.40. Henry Mcltiiniel. trainer for It. L. Tbonaae, was the heaviest buyer of the evening. He purchased six head at an outlay of ,050, including ti e star of the offerings, the brother to Cohort, a brown colt hv Cesarion — Ondalan. for which lie paid ,500. For the half-brother to Clara Huron and Petronius he paid ,000. The second highest juice was ,450, paid for the brother to Semprolus by Charles Bowman, who is reported to have l een bidding for W. T. Anderson, owner of the Victoria Stable. The same buyer paid ,100 for the chestnut . ..it by Oram- -Perth Center. The brother to Donaa, winner of the Kentucky derby of 1910. was knocked down to Mrs. w. ;. Y uiko for ,000. Mrs. Yanko was at the ringside, did h.-r own bidding and expressed the opinion that ri»e had secured a genuine bargain. Andrew Rahentson, of Melbourne. Australia, paid 73 for tie half brother to Chicago Lad. Starter Mara Caesldy, bidding for Albert Tier rasas, of Mes ieo. bought several for an average of a little more than 00.
