BALLOT AND MASKETTE TO RACE NO MORE. New York. September SB. — James R. Keene, who recently returned from an Inspection of his thoroughbred stock at CastletOfl Stud in the blue grass section of Kentucky, has announced that Ballot rreatest of the sons of Voter, and Maskelte. winner of the Futurity of 1998, which arrived at Castleton while Mr. Keene was at the farm, are through with racing and will enter upon stud duties next spring. BaUot, a better race horse than his sire, is destined to succeed Voter at Castleton. But Voter, a vigorous horse of 10. is not yet at the end of bis usefulness. Msskette, the fleetest and most successful maie Disguise ever sent to the races, will probably be mated with Ren Brush or Voter next spring. She is in rare condition for stud service.
