PETER PENDER, favored by the going, kept the leader close company to the last furlong, where, under a haul drive, he outstayed HENRY HUTCHISON. The latter showed the most early speed and set the pace to the stretch, but tired siightlv in the closing drive. CAREW ran prominently and gamely and outstayed COUNTY CLERK. The latter" made a u-ame effort on the stretch turn, but tired in the last Sixteenth. MU2SETTA W. ran fairly well. PHILANDER showed improvement. The winner was entered for O0; no bid. The latter went well throughout. DELANEY ran poorly and failed to show much speed. PRAIRIE BELLE ran away three miles while going to the iwist and was withdrawn.
