T. E. MANNIX IS DEAD. New Vork. September 2*. — Thomas E. Mannix. a widely known trainer of race horses, died yesterday at the Seely Hospital. Brooklyn, of kidney complaint. He was brought Ionic from Canada desperately ill a few days ago and sent to the hospital. Every attention was given to him. but he was beyond help Septic poisoning had set in ami he sank rap-- Mr. Mannix left fain. .• in good circumstft... es. He was a shrewd judge ot horseflesh and a capable trainer. For years he had a clientele of oeeamojasl visitors at the rac-s who liked to bet when he thought he was right. Mannix trained German Silver, a horse he took from .1. A. Beuaet after a selling race at itravsend last tall. BSCbau, Madeline I... and Jolly for a couple of seasons, and made out fairly well with them. Joefcey McCahey. a fairly clever lightweight hoy. was under contract lo Mr. Mannix. who developed the lad. as he had developed several other riders.
