Cincinnati O November 17 Barney Schrcibers Jack Atkin redeemed himself nobly by winning the Omnium Handicap which featured todays card at Latonla in handy fashion over good opposition in ¬ cluding some fast juveniles with light imposts ThS great Schreiber sprinter slmwed high speed through ¬ out and held his opposition safe all the way He was aided by a flying start Helmet was the runner up at the end witli Star Charter in third place The latter ran an exceptionally good race He was away poorly and trailed distantly for the first quar ter but came with a sensational rush In the stretch and wore down Boca Grande Follle Levy tried to run to the outside fence She had much the worst of the poor start and this accounted for her snowing snowingTodays Todays racing resulted In many disappointments and was generally accounted unsatisfactory because of the continuous defeats of the first choices as i result of poor riding C Ross had the mounts on Bonnie Kelso and M Cambon outstanding favorites from the R F Carman stable neither of which finished in the money Bonnie Kclso ran in the handicap that preceded the stake race and was opposed by Milton B Tom Bigbee and Leanience He was conceding much weight to his opponents hut the consensus of opinion held that he was capable of doing it Ross began a blundering ride on the first turn where in trying for a good position he got the horse cut off Interference followed at re ¬ peated Intervals Milton B came away to win rather handily while Tom Bigbee and Leanienm fought it out for second place Ross again rode poorly on M Cambon and after the finish the judges called on him for an explanation The jockey stated that M Camlion tried to run out He was given the benefit of the doubt but was cautioned that unless he shows decided improvement in his saddln work he may expect to find his opportunities for riding curtailed Console was another that made a wretched shoviiig in this race raceThe The days disappointments began when Joyanco was taken into camp in the opening dash Bat Mas terson contributed to the woes of the favorite fol ¬ lowers in the second and Still Alarm In the closing dash completed their chagrin through failure to land a portion of the purse Jack Atkin was the only successful favorite and his recent showing did not bring him mucli of a following today todayYesterday Yesterday Jack Atkiu Sager and other horses be ¬ longing to Barney Schreiber and quartered at La ¬ tonia were attached in a suit brought by Milton Young to recover payment of a promissory note for 4292 alleged to be due him from the master of Woodlands A few days previously J B Haggln had brought a similar suit for a smaller amount Mr Schreiber arrived today from St Louis and speedily adjusted both matters with the results that the attachments were dissolved and Jack Atkin was enabled to run and win todays stake stakeA A special train of sixteen horse cars two sleepers and a like number of day coaches will pull out from Latonla tomorrow afternoon at two oclock for El Paso Tex carrying horsemen from here intending to campaign this winter at Juarez Another special train will leave for the same point on Sunday nextj The special train for Jacksonville may also hare to bo sent in two sections on account of the large num ¬ ber of horses to be transported there thereW W H Fizer will take
