JUABEZ HAS CROWD OF 3000 Representative Besidents of El Faso Show Admira ¬ tion for Bound the World and Foils El Paso Tex December 2 For the second ladies day of the Juarez meeting acting secretary Jasper prepared an equally good program Springlike weather and the initial appearance of the great filly Round the W orld drew to Tcrrazas Park an attendance of about 3000 The personnel of the throng greatly resembled that of the huge crowd of opening day It seemed that the best part of El Pasos population turned out Polls the winner of the Derby at Moncrief Park last spring attracted almost as much attention as Round the World and as each of these racers went to the post murmurs of admiration were heard throughout the enormous grandstand In the handicap the weights were so evenly adjusted that selecting the winner was a most diliicnlt problem The race at five and a half furlongs for twoyearolds found Round the World a strong favorite although Rue Wade McLemorcs good filly was considered by many to have a good chance to take the measure of the eastern crack crackOcean Ocean Queen was post favorite in the handicap by a narrow margin being closely pressed by The Wolf The Wolf got off iit the lead and set a hot pace until the stretch turn was reached Then Jacquclina ranged alongside and in a stirring stretch drive passed him and won in game and determined fashion Polls ran far below his true form formRound Round the World well sustained the reputation slip brought here She went to the front immediately after the start and despite the resolute efforts of Frank Mullens to overtake her she ran away from him when called on and won with consummate ease Rue of which much was expected ran disappoint ¬ ingly never having much speed at any part of the running runningJockey Jockey Kent incurred the displeasure of starter Cnssidy aud was suspended for ten days
