OKLAHOMA DECISION ON BETTING Cuthrie Okla December 1C In an opinion by 1rcsidiitg Justice Henry M Furnian the State Criminal Court of Appeals holds that betting on a liorsc race Is gaining within the Oklahoma law and that if any person opens or conducts a house room or place where the public Is inviteil to assemble or by means of any device plan or scheme bet or lay wagers upon the results of horse races such persons re guilty of violating the laws of Oklahoma The opinion affirms the conviction of C S Hllswick OHIc Jainesand E P James of El Reno and their sentence of thirty days in jail and fines for book making Iu a turf exchange
