MUTUELS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE ACCEPTABLEJames James Butler president of the Kmpire City Racing Association while at San Francisco recently was quoted as saying that the parimutuel system of betting would be accepted by the racing interests in New York state if it could be effected as a com ¬ promise solution of the present embarrassing situa ¬ tion there When asked If the miitncl system wonlil not bo a violation of the state lottery law Mr Butler was quoted as saying that the lottery law as applied to mutuel betting had never been tested in the courts He stated further that he expected to soo a solution of tho betting problem in the east Iu the near future and he predicted that all of the New York tracks would race as usual next year
