JAMESTOWN CHOICES CONTINUE TO WIN. Layers Having an Unprofitable Experience at the Norfolk Course Plate Glass Again Scores. Norfolk, Va., April 11. Tlie continued success of favorites and second choices at the Jamestown Jockey Clubs cour.se this spring has been a remarkable feature of the racing. The public has certainly lieeu reaping a harvest. Todays results showed four favorites and two well-backed second choices first at the finish. The layers are running to cover. Todays lineup showed a falling off of four aud tlie chances are that several more of them will witness the racing from the grandstand tomorrow. A majority of the winners had good margins to spare as tliey passed the judges today, and In only one instance was tlie finish at all close. This came with the running of the opening race, a two-year-old dash, in which August Belmonts Kock Sand filly. Dragnet, just did manage to lieat Auto Maid a head. Dragnet was a 1 to -1 favorite. She dashed into a good lead In the early stages but one of Dugans stirrup leathers broke in tiie stretch and he was handicapped when it came to the finish. Dugan, by tlie way, has started out well this spring and is riding in splendid form. Dragnets victory was tiie second that she lias scored here. Baby Wolf made it three straight at the meeting by winning the third race in little better than a canter. He drew away into a long lead soon after the start ami at no time during the running was the result even in doubt. At tlie fiuish he led, Pete by a half dozen lengths. St. Abe came back today and scored another victory in the steeplechase. Tills horse has taken kindly to jumping. He is a skillful fencer, ossesses a good turn of speed, and it looks as IT he may develop into a more than ordinarily useful jumper. Black Bridge was again backed by bis connections, but he made a bad lauding at the tenth fence and all but lost his rider. Alien was substituted in place of Yorke today, but tlie change In riders did not bring any great improvement in the horses showing. On what he has shown here Black Bridge is not near his form of last season. The handicap, which featured the program, found Plate Glass an easy winner over the odds-ou favorite, Antenor. Starter Cassidy sent tlicni away to a moving start and this heled the chances of Plate Glass. He was in close pursuit of Antenor until straightened out on the baekstretch, where he moved into an easy lead and at tlie finish he had a margin of two lengths over the favorite, on which McCahey rode a desperate finish.
