He is still keenly interested in racing and plans to spend a few weeks at Newmarket. Richard Croker won the Fourth Irish Produce Stakes of l.ooo sovereigns at Fhoeiiix Park. Dublin, Ireland, last Saturday with his colt Benanet, by Aincricus— Blackstowti. Starter Cassidy now has nine horses on his schooling list at La ton la, Including Kittery, Adams Express. Chapultepec, Ishkoodab. Arany, Otogo, Del-thrope, Ramazan and Hannah Louise. The horses belonging to apt. E. B. Cassatt will be sold at public auction in the Latonia paddock next Friday. The order to sell came by cable to trainer J. Simon Healy from Captain Cassatt, who is now in London. The recent two-days meeting at Klkwo.nl Park, Long Branch. N. J., was so successful that there may be an attempt lo hold a longer session in All-gusi. It appears that Monmouth County residents ale hungry for racing and that the Elkwood Park managers have been urged to provide a long-felt want. If there is no racing at Saratoga it is thought that Long Branch may supplant the Spa as a mecca for eastern horsemen. The eighteen-days meeting recently closed at Oklahoma City was by far the most successful in the history of the s|K rt in that locality, and the building of a mile track by the Oklahoma City Jockey Club before another year has passed seems to be practically a certainty. According to the officials of the Oklahoma State Eair Association, which controls the plant, the success of the state fair the coming fall is all that is needed to insure the making of such in Improvement. Another meeting will be held dur ing the fair, from September 20 to October 7.
