LAGOON PATRONAGE GOOD ATTENDANCE AT UTAH TRACK HIGHLY SATISFACTORY TO ITS PROMOTERS. Zoroaster Takes Principal Race of Monday Card—. Jockey Selden Likely to Survive His Recent Severe Injuries. Salt Lake City. I tali. July 10. — A well balanced caul was olt.-ieil racegoers at Lagoon this afternoon and the attendance was highly gratifying to the management. Keen interest was manifested in the various races ami speculation in the ring was of satisfactory volume. The feature race was a contest at one mile and an eighth, participated in by some of the most useful long-distance platers here. Zoroaster wag installed favorite and justified the expectations of his supporters by drawing clear to win in easy fashion. The success of four first choices gave the public a profitable experience. Jockey Selden. who was injured recently, is showing improvement and hopes are entertained for his ultimate recovery, although it cannot yet be foretold if he will ever be able to resume riding. At a recent paddock sale the following horses, the property of J. M. Crane, were sold: Sanel. 00, to J. Dixon: Rosanio. 10, to Powell and Parker; John H. Sheehan. 00. Joseph Stern: Lescar, 1911.sh50, T. Stevens; First Fashion, 00, B. Molesey; Billy Myer, 10. W. Gabriel: Belleview, 5. A. L. Denny. At the same time E. Moyne sold Miss Officious to J. Cobura. Other horses from the Moyne stable were bid in at the following prices: Chester Krum, ,200; Star Actor, 8200; W hidden. 00; Endymion, 75: Parlor Boy. 8575; Baimrella. 85. W. B. Carson has bought Rue from W. MeLemore. Swagerlator has developed into a bleeder.
