MASON was hustled into the lead at once and forced JOE ROSE to go wide when turning into the stretch, but. holding on gamely in the final drive, just lasted long enough to win. JOE ROSE, much the best, ran well and would have won handily but for being forced to go wide on the last turn. LEON B. tireil after U-ing prominent to the last furlong. O. CO. E. went fairly well. STELCLIFF, always In closest pursuit, was going fastest at the end and gaining on the winner. VESPER was away in a tangle and weakly ridden, but ran a good race. DOMINICA ran as if much the best, showed the most speed throughout and won in a canter. TEDDY BEAR, from a slow beginning and going wide, came with a rush through the stretch Into a game second. LADY II VPSBURG was speedy, but tired in the last furlong. SIR MINCEMEAT was crowded back on the last turn and might have been third but for the mishap. BONNIE BEE quit.
