THE BELMONT HORSES NOW IN ENGLAND. Mr. August Relniont had his share of bad link la-t year, for it was a cutting stroke when his lies-two year old. Black Rock, appeared to have the Findou Stakes easily won at UOOdwaOd, but broke down so badly that he had subsequently to be destroyed. This year he has some asefal ones to g on with in Merry Task 5 years, a bloodlike and well grown bay horse, by Octagon Merry Token. that has wintered well, and may be trusted to d . further winning service. Sandwich 4 yean, by Rock Sand Teas Over, has grown into a ebarmlae mare. and. although she was one of ttie unfortunnt.s that did not realize expectations last year, there are good hopes Ihat she will fulfill her juvenile promise. and do better this season. As much may lie en-pected of her own sister. Toggery, a dapper looking bay tilly. with strong, perfect action and line spe -d. that should carry her prominently in short cut-. Monotone, bay colt, by Rock Sand -Lady Margaret. would be nearly pcrfectlsa but for being slightly dipped in his back, as he is an upstanding horse .. great character, with a particularly intelligent hea.J. a splendid forehead, and great powerful asmrters, goad to follow. Golden Rock, half-brother to Fair Play, who was a really good horse iu America, has yet to mak" his Sjftt appearance in public, but i- a bu-iness like dark bay colt, with black points. Ihat will belie his looks if biter on he does not roll. T credit on his distinguished parentage. Another well bred horse is Tracery, bay c dt. by Rock Smd -Topiary, a big powerful colt of Whom much was si pected as a yearling, but he conld not be traie-1 owing to a nasty thoroiighpin. That trouble bavin? be.-n satisfactorily snmwnnted, however, it i- hoped he will go on all right ami develop into a good cl i--winner. — London Sportsman,
