WESTERNERS INTERESTED IN NEW TRACK New York May S Former Congressman Joseph L Rhinock of Covington Ky is the moving spirit iu the new association that has been organized to conduct racing at Havre de Grace Md Associated with him are George B Cox of Cincinnati J B Respess of Covington and prominent Marylandcrs the latter including some Influential politicians The laud on which the new track will be built has been acquired for 20000 and the plans call for an expenditure of 125000 for the construction of the track grandstand and other necessary structures structuresThe The track will bo located directly on the banks of the Susquehanna River in what is considered one of the most beautiful spots in all America The grounds include 103 acres about thirtyeight miles from Bal ¬ timore and fortyeight miles from Philadelphia Both the Pennsylvania and the Baltimore Ohio Rail ¬ roads run through the land that has become tha property of Mr Rhinock and his associates Each company will build a handsome railroad station iu close connection with the track Mr Rhinock has arranged with each company for a 50cent round trip chair car fare fareThe The former congressman has made a number of visits to Havre de Grace He has walked and has ridden on several occasions all over the property has studied out its couuectious with Philadelphia ami Baltimore and from every other standpoint and be ¬ lieves that he has got hold of a great place for racing racingContracts Contracts already signed call for the making of a mile race course and the erection of grandstand bet ¬ ting shed paddock and all other buildiugs so that racing may begin early in September for a sixtydays period periodFine Fine turnpikes connect the property with Philadel ¬ phia and Baltimore permitting automobiliug and driving from each city
