PLANS TOR NORFOLK MEETING Montreal Que September 14 A letter received at Blue Bonnets from Manager Bob Levy of the Jamestown Jockey Club at Norfolk advises horse ¬ men of improvements to bo made at tho Norfolk track for the fall meeting to bo held from November 13 to 30 inclusive Manager Levy has renewed his lease of the Norfolk plant for two years longer and will make extensive alterations The betting ring Is to be enlarged to twice its old size which will make it much more comfortable for the public and layers Two hundred new stables are now being built and will be ready for the horses at the close of the Laurel meeting meetingThis This fall six stakes will be opened ranging in value from 1000 to 1500 Thero will be many purses carrying values of 500 and 400 which is a considerable increase over former meetings There will be a steeplechase every day which will be a popular move in Virginia where so many good hunters and jumpers are owned The track will be put in firstclass condition for the meeting and with a new top dressing it promises to bo faster than ever everThe The stakes will closo during the running of the meeting at Laurel which is to be held from October 1 to 31 inclusive Manager Levy will be a fre ¬ quent visitor there to confer with Joseph McLennan who is again to bo the racing secretary at Norfolk The officials will he practically the same as last spring Six or more races will be run each ater noon during tho sixteen days
