INDIANA TRACK SOON TO BE READY Gary Ind September 24 The race track at Mineral Springs willbe ready for horses to work over by Sunday and it in expected that them will be some here to work by that time was the announcement made by A F Knotts who Is super ¬ intending the work of construction when he came in from the new track this afternoon afternoonA A batch of applications for stable room were received today and there were other letters in ¬ quiring if the meeting would actually be run off For the benefit of such inquirers I will say that we proi ose to conduct a fifteendays race meeting under the laws of the State of Indiana and there will be nothing to prevent us from carrying out our plans There will be six races run during every day of the fifteendays meeting and there will no J000 in purses given away to horsemen each day dayWhile While the Mineral Springs Jockey Club officials have heard of an association of bookmakers in Chi ¬ cago I can truthfully say that we have never had any communication with them nor will we have any coiinection with any bookmaking Of course wagers may be made among individuals just as these same individuals would wager on any sporting proposition where they might be gathered together No state official will stop the races because the meeting will bo conducted within the law in every respect respectAmong Among the applications for stable room were those of N B Davis for ten stalls G W J Bissell seven stalls H E Davics eight stalls P IT Tones eight stalls H W Hoag four stalls B Vincent six stalls and Albert Bray two stalls stallsWord Word was received from Toronto that a big lot of horsemen will head toward Mineral Springs as soon as the racing season closes in that locality
