WILL RESPECT LAWS OF INDIANA A F Knotts president of the Mineral Springs Jockey Club came to Chicago from Gary yesterday I o purchase chairs and other equipment for tho new track now in process of construction near Porter I rid and over which racing is scheduled to begin October 12 Mr Knotts commenting on certain Chicago hostilit3 to the venture of which he is at the head paid Nothing is going to stop us from running a fif ¬ teendays race meeting with six races every day We will conduct our meeting within the laws of the State of Indiana where our track is located The track is owned and will bo run by citizens of Indiana and no one in Chicago is going to tell us what we may or may not do on our own property We propertyWe expected when wo started out that we would meet with opposition from some who are not Wholly disinterested There are some persons in Chicago who do not want to see us go through with our plans for reasons best known to themselves However they may as well reconcile themselves to the idea that we are going through with It
