finished first and second with the motorcycles close up Both horses were beaten off All bets on the contests were declared off and tha purse of 500 was awarded as the contestants fin ¬ ished ishedThn youngsters here Besides Leochares there wero Rock View Frederick L and Coy Frederick L was always the betting choice and went to the post an even money favorite The race furnished a stir ¬ ring contest in which the Belmont colt Rock View managed to beat Lcochares a scant half length In a long and hard stretch drive The pace from the start was extremely fast Coy showing the way until entering the homestretch At this point the field bunched and Leochares came through along the rail He caught Rock View at the furlong post and 1C looked for a time as if he would beat the Belmout colt In the final drive the latter went on with great courage while Leochares weakened a trifle and Rock View was first homo by a scant half length Leochares was not keyed up for such a bruising contest which
