Narrowestof of Margins to Make It Triple Baltimore Md October 23 Deep and heavy go ¬ ing prevailed at Laurel again today and it was strictly a day for the mudrunners Form how ¬ ever was better observed than on Thursday oh favorite and two wellhacked second choices being numbered among the winners Tho colors of the New York turfman J L Holland were con ¬ spicuous during the afternoon The Holland stable furnished two of the winners in Fasces and Qchro Court while Hilarious was only beaten a nose In the final stride of the closing dash The defeat oC Hilarious was iu a measue due to the splendid ride that jockey JJutwell gave Fred Mulbolland Ho rode a desperate finish after slipping through along the inside rail and just did manage to get up in time Hilarious today made 110 attempt to rnn out although he went wide on the turns Ho showed good speed in the going but at the end his impost of 121 pounds had its effect and he weak ¬ ened a bit Tlie Busybody was tniril ucatcn a neck for second place The finish was exceedingly close and as a contest it was much tho best race of the day dayWilliam William Garth saddled two winners in Garth and Fred Mulholland The former showed a fine turn of speed in the going and ran up on the outside with a rush after making the turn out of the back stretch easily disposing of his opposition in tho stretch racing Ochre Courts was the best race of the afterrioon from a time standpoint He madc every post a winning one and at the fiuisb bad Ben staggeringWar Loyal staggering War Horn the only winning favorite gavo his backers a scare in
