NO SANCTION FOK MAKLBORO MEETING New York October 31 If racing is conducted at Marlbcro Md this fall as has Iwcn advertised it will be without the sanction of the Jockey Club At a meeting of the stewards yesterday Assistant Secretarv Algernon Daingertield called attention to the fact that a meeting was proposed at Marlboro from November 13 to November 23 and said that tiie Kime association had conducted a tendays inctiiig in June last under a resolution of the Jockey Club ClubThi Thi led to the adoption of the following anicnd 3f innnt to the previous resolution resolutionResolved Resolved That where races are held under the auspices of a liona fide fair association in connec ¬ tion with tiie interests of the fair association itself and not of a lessee the Jockey Club will not grant a license but will not take cognizance of such as being in violation of their rules provided however that no other irregularities come to their attention and provided the meeting docs not continue In any one year for more than five days In the state of New 1 York ami ten days in states other than New York YorkResolved Resolved That the associations holding race meetings during the year 1912 under a license from tiie Jockey Club l e warned that any dates granted shall not be construed as extending a meeting for racing as a state or couiity fair or horse show showTne Tne secretary was instructed to send the follow ¬ ing letter to the Southern Maryland Fair Associa ¬ tion Marlboro Md Richard S Hill Esq President Southern Mary ¬ land Ftlr Association Upper Marlboro Md Dear Sir The published advertisement by the Southern Maryland Fair announcing a race meet ¬ ing on November 13 to 23 has been brought to the attention of the stewards of the Jockey Club 1 am instructed to inform you that the Jockey Club cannot countenance the races you propose to hold presumably in accordance with the Jockey Clubs resolution of February 8 1912 This resolu ¬ tion was intended to apply to only one meeting In any one year yearIn In order that there may l o no misunderstanding en this subject the resolution has been amended as per copy inclosed and is considered as applying to Yours very trnly trnlyAlgernon Algernon Dalngerfield Assistant Secretary
