W K VANDERBILTS CASTLETON PURCHASES P T Chirm Plays a Part in the Transaction James R Keene Loth to Sell Lexington Ky November 28 The seven mares sold by James It Kceuo to W K Vauderbilt for export to France are as follows followsMaskette Maskette by Disguise Biturica by Hamburg winner of the Futurity of 190S and 77000 77000Court Court Dress by Disguise Hampton Belle by Hampton winner of 35157 whose first foal a filly by Voter won in England this year Pope yearPope Joan by Disguise Editha by Master Kil dare secoud to Klectioneer in the Futurity of 1900 winner of 20530 and dam of Jocasta a winner in England in 1112 her first foal foalMeggs Meggs Hill by Ken Brush Runaway Girl by Domino winner of 12305 12305Stepping Stepping Stone by Ben Brush Running Stream by Domiuo DomiuoEarly Early and Often by Voter Cinderella by Her ¬ mit A halfsister to Peter Pan and dam of Soon Again a winner in England this year Mosquito yearMosquito by Commando Sanddy by Isonomy dam of Stinger and Stung Again winner of two races in England this year yearPhil Phil T Chiiin who went abroad with a oonsien ment of thoroughbred broodmares that were sold a fortnight ago at Hoppegarten Germany in tho name of Catesby Woodford of Paris Ky and who yesterday closed the deal with James R Keene for seven of his mares to go to W K Vanderbilta farm in France in exchange for GO000 returned to Lexington this afternoon afternoonI I had a splendid trip abroad although Mr Wood fordrf horses did not bring all that wo expected We made SOUK money ho said While In France I spent a couple of days with William Duke trainer for W K Vauderbilt I suggested to him that If he would buy some of the Keene mares he could with tho stallions available to him produce some really wonderful race horses I discussed the Kcen mares with him at some length for I knew many of them and when I departed for America ho in ¬ structed me to see Mr Vaiiderbilt in New York A letter from Duke to Mr Vanderbilt preceded me and when I arrived in New York I was told to bur ten of the Keene mares if I could with Maskcttu heading the list Mr Kccue was reluctant He did not want to sell any of them but he finally agreed to part with Maskette Pope Joan Court Dress Stepping Stone Meggs Hill Mosquito and Early nnd Often for 00000 I hurried home to make prep ¬ arations for the shipment of the mares from here next Wednesday for France
