The purposes, as stated, are for the maintenance of public fairs, expositions, race meetings, entertainments, exhibitions of live stock and machinery, the encouragement of agriculture and horticulture. education, etc. Asked as to the racing feature. W. H. Flowers, one of the incorporators, replied that no attempt was being made to prepare a way for a return to horse racing as it was known ill the olden il,u- "I know of no law on the books which prohibits horse racing per se," he said.
