KEMPTON PARKS GREAT JUBILEE HANDICAP In the Great Jubilee Handicap at Kempton Park Saturday May 10 the favorite Bachelors Hope failed to tread i the footsteps of Victor Wild and Ypsilanti which both won the race on two occa ¬ sions and his defeat together with that of some other fancied candidates was a disappointment to the general body of backers Mr I McCalmonts horse started a wellsupported favorite from Hector but neither finished in the first eight while the former was also disiwsed of by his lightly weighted stable companion Talaua Hill which fought out the tinish with the outsider Absolute which gave away six pounds and won by a length It was impossible to fancy the winner on previous form for he had been badly beaten in the Newbnry Cup and the City and Suburban and on the running in the lattei race Bachelors Hope had the sure disposal of him Ab ¬ solute was well ridden by W Buckley apprenticed to A Sadler Jr at Newmarket and as he bad the mount on Ciithhert In the Lincolnshire Handicap his Jubilee victory would be some consolation for disqualification on the Carholme The winner was bred by his owner Mr W II Walker at his famous Tnlly Stud and as he is by Gallimile out of Cherry Lass the Oaks winner of 1905 there is nothing wanting on the score of his pedigree The field as a whole was representative of excellent class and in that respect upheld the traditions of a race which is associated with many line perform
