DISTRICT ATTORNEY WYSONGS REJOINDER New York June 27 In reply to Governor Sul zers demand on District Attorney Wvsong and Sheriff De Mott of Nassau County that they in ¬ stitute action against those who have ecn con ¬ ducting the Bclmont Park racetrack on the ground that the antigambling laws of New York stato have been violated District Attorney Wysoug is quoted as follows followsShow Show me one Iota of evidence on which I can prosecute these alleged gamblers under the present law and I will take immediate action actionEvery Every day at Bclmont Park we are sending from five to a dozen or more suspicious characters from the track who are attempting to place bets on the races We have not sufficient evidence to hold them and by ejecting them from the grounds we are assisting in the preventing of crime crimeWhile While there may be cases of betting at the tracks in order to prevent it it would IH neces ¬ sary to cmplov a detective for every visitor at the track trackIf If Canon Chase of Brooklyn has additional evi ¬ dence and will submit it to me and I think it of value I will cooperato with him and will do all that is iKissible iKissibleThe The laws made by the Legislature regarding gambling are so complex that it appears difficult to properly interpret them
