HILDRETH TO RETURN TO AMERICA Signs Contract to Train the Horses of August Bel mont in This Country Paris France August 2 August lielmont chair ¬ man of The Jockey Club at Xew York has just made a contract with Samuel C Hildreth to rettun to America and train his extensive string of horses Mr Hildreth will leave France within the next two weeks to assume his new duties dutiesDuring During the three years that Hildretli has cam ¬ paigned the horses of the late Charles Kohler also of Xew York over the French courses he has met with signal success The recent sudden death of Mr Kohler naturally brought that racing estab ¬ lishment to a conclusion and the horses that have raced are shortly to be disposed of at public auction auctionAVIien AVIien Mr Ilildreth associated himself with Mr Kohler It was under a verlial partnership arrange ¬ ment and he shared in the profits of tho stable There were several Important purchases of thorough ¬ breds made in the French market to thy joint ac ¬ count but at no time was there other than this verbal arrangement The horses have always cam ¬ paigned under the name of Mr Kohler and it is not known just how Mr Hildreth will be able to establish his partnership rights when the horses are disiMised of by the estate estateMr Mr Kohler first came into racing seriously when he ostensibly took over the big string that Mr Hildreth raced so successfully in America Thut was in 1011 In the previous year the Hildreth stable easily headed the list of winning owners and included the chalnpion twoyearold of the year Xovelty as well as Fitz Herbert the best handicap horse in the country to say nothing of many others of high quality qualityThroughout Throughout his French campafgn Mr Hildreth has been one of the most successful of American racing horses on tho Continent He has long been an important turf figure aud his American reputa ¬ tion preceded him when he camp to France He has proven himself a wizard at fitting horses and there is no shrewder judge of thoroughbreds in thn or any other country With the highclass string that August Belniont will furnish it Is inevitable that the results will be jthe equal of any that have gone before for the chairman of The Jockey Club
