STAKES FOR THE LAUREL FALL MEETING Nine valuable stake races to be run over the Laurel track in the course of the Maryland State Fairs fall meeting are to close for entries at mid ¬ night of Monday September 1 The managers of Laurel racing have from the start been sagaciously liberal in providing money to be run for and adhere to this policy in the events now proffered The main event is the American Grand National Handi ¬ cap of 5000 guaranteed for threeyearolds and over at a mile and an eighth Next In point of value are the Washington Handicap at a mile and aa eighth and the Baltimore Handicap at a mile and a sixteenth to each of which 2500 Is added both being for threeyearolds and over The Annapolis Juvenile Stakes for twoyearolds at threequarters of a mile has 2000 added The other five events all have 1500 added In all this stake program constitutes an excellent offering that should attract corresponding patronage Full conditions of the races on offer are published In this Issue of Dally Racing Form and all are commended to owners anil trainers east and west
