HILLCREST OPENING IS AUSPICIOUS. Toronto, Out., September 30. The autumn meeting Of the Toronto Driving Club had an auspicious ; opening at Hilicrest Park this afternoon when o.OOO persons witnessed the running of nine races, made up of large and evenly-balanced fields. Four favorites and four second choices were successful. The weather and track conditions were favorable. Four "good things." Odd Cross, Janus. Pendant and Golden Treasure, won their respective races easily after being heavily supported. After he had given an exhibition of deliberate rough riding on Odd Cross in the opening race.
