NOTES OF THE TURF. Ambrose Clark won the Tonkaway Steeplechase at " lielmont Park Terminal last Tuesday with an imported English jumper named Peregrine Piekle. He Is a seven-year-old gelding by Perigord Ardent and in England was a nspful hurdle racer. He did not win In his three races last year, but In 1911 took the Sefton Steeplechase of ,005 at Newbury and the Liverpool Hurdle Handicap of ,1S0 at the Liverpool Spring meeting. In this he defeated ten of the best hurdlers In England. In 1010 he ran in cven hurdle races and won three, besides being placed in the other four.
