ANOTHER RECORD EQUALED PAN ZARETA AGAIN RUNS FIVE AND A HALF FURLONGS IN 1:04. J, F. and H. S. Newmans Fleet Filly Equals American Mark for Distance a Second Time Within Few Days. KI Paso, Tex., December 13. Just one week ago Unlay, J. F. and H. S. Newmans fast three-year-old filly. Pan Zareta, equaled the American record of 1:04 for five and half furlongs in winning a race at Juarez. On that occasion she carried 124 pounds. This afternoon, with two more pounds up, she duplicated her brilliant performance of a week ago. As in her preceding record-equaling performance, she made all of the pace and won easily, with plenty of margin to spare. It was evident that had it been necessary, she could have reduced tho American record nnon either occasion. Jockey" R. Small, who has been racing a stable here since the opening of the meeting, has decided to sell the horses at auction and resume riding. Tlje sale will take place next Tuesday and Small will be seen in the saddle within a few days. Trainer George Land, who has Ieen assisting Mose Goldblatt, lias severed his connection with the J. Livingston stable. Mr. Land expects to .be engaged witli another stable in tho near future. Jockey Stevens was taken sick after riding Belle of Bryn Mawr in the third and his engagements for the remainder of the day were canceled. Bookmaker M. Grau arrived from the east today. It is his intention to stay for the remainder of the meeting. W. C. Clancys Garter had a spell of colic just before post time for the fifth race and was excused from starting by the stewards.
