DISAGREEABLE BAY AT JUAREZ. High Wind Sweep Course, Causing: Discomfort to Patrons and Affecting- Racing-, F.I Paso, Tex., January IS. The weather at Juarez this afternoon was the most disagreeable that has lieen experienced so far this season. A sudden change Irom warm summcrlike weather to a high and cold wind, had a tendency to make the patronage rather light, but the layers reported plenty of ring action. Bob Hensloy. bred and developed by Allen and Ileiisley. won the Siorre Madre Handicap at six lurlongs from a good baud of three-year-olds. The horse was unquestionably host, as his rider, jockey Marco, who has had but little experience in the saddle, was of little assistance to him, and Unhorse won on his own courage. The boy gave Ihillistina a similar ride in the closing race of the day over a distance of ground and she lost a purse that she should have won. Jockeys Xeylon and Loftus each scored twice during the afternoon. Iron Mask worked seven-eighths this morning in preparation for his record-breaking trial of Sun-nay -next. The fractiinals were: , 1:11, i :L!Vf pulled up. J. Ii. Mi ad snipped his stable to Charleston this morning. Among the late arrivals are II. H. Trowbridge and Frank Sells, of Canyon City. Ore. Both an- interested in horses that are racing here. Manager M. .1. Winn has abolished the mile-and-a sixteenth chute, and in. future all races at this distance at the Juarez track will start on the main course. The tearing down of the fence whore tile chute was located lias made a sightly improvement at that end of the course. Jockey .1. Howard has given J. Imonsd tor tir-t call on his services and that trainer will make Howards mounts during the remainder of the Juarez meeting. Howard has also agreed to ride the two-year-olds trained by W. K. Cottroll, which include Silver Blossom and other good youngsters owned by G. L. Blackford.
