Mumford and will shortly lie sent to India. Oselle had very useful form last fall, finishing third to Florist in tlie Duke of York Stakes, and second to China Cock in the Liverpool Autumn Cup. The Duke of Portlands La Belle France, dam cf William of Orange, in foal to William the Third, and Cant. Fifes Fluke II.. in foal to Bonarosa. have arrived at the Bel Ebat Stud to be mated witli Rock Sand. Sir W. Nelson is sending Atirina. which he bought at the last Newmarket sales in foal to Sun-dridge, back to France to breed her again to that horse. Tlie position of deputy stipendiary steward to the Australian Jockey Club, rendered vacant by the resignation of M. J. Hogan, on his appointment as chairman of stipendiary stewards of tlie South Australian Jockey Club, has been filled by the appointment of F. W. Coonibes. who comes from New Zealand, where lie has had some experience in thvt capacity in the North Island. Onlv lirtv-four horses remained in the German Derby of this vear; According to the result of the "Derbv Pottle" arranged by the Hamburg Racing Club for its members every year, Messrs.
