CI1ENAULT. away forward ly, was rushed into the lead at once and, under a good ride, won all the way and gamely outstayed MALIK in the linal drive. MALIK ran in closest pursuit throughout and seemed done in the stretch, but came again in the last eighth and outstayed PEACOCK. The latter moved up ramely in-ho stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. INSPECTOR LESTRADE ran poorly and had no mishaps. MASKS AND FACES ran poorly. FAIRY GODMOTHER and PLAIN ANN also ran bad races .-id lioth can do much better. Scratched 13573 Elsie llerndon. OS. SE.MI-QlAArER ran a good race and was probably best, but lost much ground bv coming wide into the stretch. MOISANT saved much ground 011 the turns, but tired a trille in the stretch. RALPH LLOYD closed a gap and was gaining at the end. PROVINCE raced well up most of the. wav. LITTLE EPtired. ROLLING STONE ran lmorly and will do better presently. Scratched 1:51 Striker. JEZA1L came from a long wav hack in the stretch. ROGER GORDON was much the best and would have won off by himself but for bolting on the stretch turn when far in the lead. ROYAL METEOR showed the most early speed :;nd set the pace to near the end. but tired badly when challenged by the winner. L. II. ADAIR closed a big gap in the last quarter from a poor beginning. AV. AV. CLARK suffered from interference at the start, but moved up into forward contention in the first quarter and tired near the- end.
