NEW ORLEANS OFFICIALS SELECTED. New Orleans, La., October 20. Members of the Business Meus Racing Association, which will conduct a forty-days race meeting here, starting January 1, last night organized the Middle West Jockey Club, under the jurisdiction of which the races will be run, and to which jockeys, trainers and horsemen must pay licenses. The New Louisiana Jockey Club agreed to allow the use of the Fair Grounds track for the first years meeting free of charge, and agreed to bear part of the expense of putting the course In shape for the races. It was decided to hold a forty-days meeting, with six races each day, four of the purses to be 00 each and two purses 00 each. Stakes will he run once a week. The expenses of the association are figured at ,500 per day. Judge Joseph A. Murphy was elected managing director anil presiding judge Tor live years, witii authority to go to Latonia, Pimllco and other racing centers to induce horsemen to come here. A. B. Dade was appointed starter and Joseph McLennan racing secretary. The association expects it capital stock of 00,-000 to be fully paid up within four, weeks, a total of 5,000 already being in baud. The admission foe will lie and individual betting will lie allowed. The other officials aside from thuse mentioned above, will be local men.
