TIMELY GOSSIP FROM KENTUCKY. Cincinnati, O., October 20. Weights for the Fort Thomas Stakes, .,000 added for two-year-olds, six furlongs, will be announced on Thursday by Secretary .L. W. Maglnn. This event is to be the big feature race next Saturday afternoon fit Latonia and its list of eligible embraces a ma- jorlty of the two-year-old cracks now racing in i Kentucky, including Emerson Coshran, Ed Crump, i Solly, Cnalmers and Liberator. Great interest centers " aliout the Fort Thomas Stakes, as It has in seasons past furnished a line on Derby timber j; for the following season. A race like this will doubtless draw an immense crowd to the Latonia track next Saturday. As a setting for the big j tnnt Secretary Maginu has arranged a great , card of overnight events for that afternoon, three of the races being at a mile and over. R. D. Williams has arrived at Latonia with a band of vearlings, which are to be sold here in the name of J. L. Holland at the yearlings sale ; next Monday and Tuesday. The yearlings Williams brought here are all by the good i race horse Hilarious and constitute the unit of his get, the exception being one colt by Martinet. They are a lusty looking lot of youngsters.
