The management of the Saratoga track announces that thirty-eight subscriptions have been takeu for the second running of the Grab Bag Handicap, for two-year-olds, a sporting sweepstakes that will have an important place oii the Saratoga program next August. Harry Payne Whitney and Jefferson Livingston have each taken three subscriptions. John E, Madden. August Belmont. Kdward It. Bradley, GilTord A. Cochran. Capt. Edward B. Cassatt. James Butler and the Quincv Stable have each taken two. The other subscribers are: II. II. Hewitt, Richard F. Carman. Schuvler L. larsons. Joliu Sanford, Foxhall I. Keen"1, Kdward F. Whitney. AV. K. Coe. II. K. Knapp, F. Ambrose C ark. Richard T. Wilson. Price McKInncy, J. L. Iloland, Johnson N. Camden. Frederick Johnson, C. K. G. Billings, L. S. Thoinp sou, John W. Schorr and James MaeManus. All of these sportmen and niauy more are represented by liberal nominations for the other two-year-old Saratoga stakes recently closed. One of the best nominators is John K. Madden, who is represented by fifteen youngsters in the four stakes. Harry Payne Whitney has named a like number anil James Butler is represented hv eleven. Jefferson Livingston has named ten Knglish-bred yearlings, brought from Kngland by Phil Chinn. The Quincv Stable lias named- nine and August Belmont, chairman of the Jockey Club, is represented by six. Five of them are the get of Hock Sand and the sixth a Hastings colt. Gifford A. Cochran is represented by seven, Richard T. Wilson by five and Captain Cassatt by six. They are all homebred and four are the get of Sir John Johnson, with the other two by Aeronaut.
