section say the older inhabitants and while at no time since last November lias the wealhor been disagreeable for a considerable number of days at a stretch from now on the best of weather is likely to prevail and local patronage of the sport will be extensive extensiveSiliniliorliko Siliniliorliko weather prevailed today but the Juarez track remained in a heavy condition in spite of the warmth of the suns rays It probably will require several days of line weather to restore the course to its normal rundili m Todays card was of the mediocre rt and was featureless It was given over altogether to selling platers of the iicaper grade Driving linishes with the winners lirst home by narrow margins marked most of the races The twoyearold race won by Little Itlues was a notable exception Mak Good and Mrs Mo were the days winning favorites 1 W Fuller shipped loiliiy to his ranih near Wills Iint Te three twoyearold lillies and Jlie older horses Ask Ma Captain Marchmont and Toy Hoy HoyJockey Jockey Robert Small who has just recovered from ail attack of illness will resume riding in the course f daysThe a few days The last stake race of the Juarez season will bo run tomorrow It is the Supremo a half mile dush for twoyearolds and has attraced an excellent list of entries notwithstanding the adverse track conditions conditionsJohn John JC Tenirr iid aJargupacty were quests of Manager Wlmi ar the track this afternoon Mr Teller Is a former governor f Pennsylvania and president of the National baseball league Tney slopped off en route to the San Francisco exposition All were favorably impr impressed with the afternoons sprrt sprrtJockey Jockey M Garner wa suspended foi by tin stewards for rough riding in the second lace laceMi Mi account fif legislation against the sport in Montniia the tracks in Kentucky will got more stables from here this season than over before S me few strings will go to Maryland some will go to Colorado ami a few t the Canadian half mile tracks but the stables with fair racing nia tetrial will move on to the blue grass state Some few will race in Nevada but the majority of horse ¬ men who race in the far west are waiting to ascer ¬ tain Just what that section will have to oiler The stables which will go to Denver arc those which never leave the far west So when April comes around the inurement to Kentucky from here will resemble a hegira hegiraGeorge George Land who has been hern all winter looking after the horses owned by A G Dunlap has gone to Louisville to take the position of foreman in the big stable of John W Schorr whjse string was as usual wintered in that city and is once more in active training there in charge of trainer f F Schorr Trainer James McCorniiek who has here ¬ tofore held this position with the Schorr stable has seemed the position as trainer for Eniil Hens whose string has been wintering at Churchill Downs Ihll T Chiiiu who brought the horses owned by Mr Ilefz to America last fall secured the position for Mr McCormick who was at one time with Chinn when the latter had in charge the horses owned by Catesby Woodford WoodfordF F D Weir has decided upon the course he will pursue with Old Rosebud the coming season He lias good reports from the wintering quarters of the brilliant Kentucky Derby winner of 1014 and will take no chances by hustling him with rapid prepar ¬ ation for early racing the coming spring He has made UP liis mind nrt to race the son of Iliele until midsummer and he may not be seen under colors until the meeting at Saratoga is under way Veterinarians who have thoroughly examined Old Rosebud think that by this long wait he will surely stand training again and it is anticipated that when he does return to the turf he will be as invincible as of 4Id He is the one fouryearold that is count ¬ ed upon to give Roamcr battle for the supremacy in among the older horses in training this season and if the pair can brought together each at his best one it the greatest races of latter days is likely to result Those who were fortunate enough to see Old Rosebud win his sensational Kentucky Derby race last spring will always doubt if the turf in America has ever seen a threeyearold that could have defeated him that day over any distance of ground He showed then the dazzling speed of the fastest sprinter and was able apparently to run every quarter of the Derby route evenly His going wrong alone prevented him from enjoying an un ¬ beaten threeyearold career in the opinion of many il judges judgesAunt Aunt Sal C W Clarks smart twoyearold fillv which won the Mexican Stakes here on Febrn arv 21 is a daughter of Salvation and out of An Uoeh bv Frankfrrt she being out of the successful broodmare Itudget of Fun John Lowe thinks highly of this lilly and if no training accident befalls her she is certain to give a good account of herself when she starts at Churchill Downs this spring Lowe will have quite a stable f horses to ship to Kentucky next month He will sell Ypress Spin ¬ dle ami The Cinder and perhaps one or two others Those he will take to Kentucky in addition to Aunt Sal Include Frisky Has lanes Fathom Rrynli inali Florence Roberts General Marchmont Kl Ialomar and Tho lorita It is a useful collection and Aunt Sal and Frisky may as the season advances prove something more than ordinary youngsters youngstersli li W Hoag has decided to retire the mare Orba Smile and will likely trade her to trainer Halt Newman for a colt at the close of the meeting here If Mr Newman secures he sh will be mated with Alic Frank nest month She is a well bred mare ling a daughter f Smile t ° f Orbed Maiden the dam of Orbed Lad Orbicular and Orhiculatioii Siio is now eight years old and has been an annual winner since she first began racing She did not start as a twoyearold and raced only a few times as a throeyearold The following season she won four races while as a fiveyearold she won elgit races and six races In 1lit as a sixyearold She also won several races last year and this so she bad nearly twentylive races to her credit during her career on the turf turfKentucky Kentucky race goers will not see that Hying sinInter Joe Hlair in action this spring as th ro ore few races for allaged horses on the Kentucky cir ¬ cuit at less than six furKuigs The colts owner Oorgo S Martin has decided to ship him to one of the Marvland tracks at the conclusion of the meeting here then if he shows a disposition to race well over live and a half furlongs will end him to ICeutncky in the fall Toe Blairs speed is unquestioned but his ability tptriin well for as far as six furlongs Is yet a matter of doubt that Is when racing with any horse that can keep witnin striking distance of him in the early part of the
