FAMOUS COLORS 10 SOON REAPPEAR New York April 27 There will be several re ¬ cruits to tlie ranks of patrons of amateur racing at the meeting of the Rockaway Hunting Club which will open the racing season hereabouts next Saturday at Hewlett Bay Park Six new names will be found on the card as owners but the colors of one have been seen often enough on the regular tracks and in the early days of the sport also were prominent at the hunt meetings meetingsFoxhall Foxhall P Keene prominent as an owner and gentleman rider in the early eighties has signified his return to the sport of his early days by entering two horses for the post and rail events They will carry the white and blue sjwts which were made famous when James R Keeua campaigned the best stable of horses In the country Nearly thirty years ago Foxhall Keene was one of the best amateur riders the other prominent men in the saddle at that time including August Belmont George Work Sam Sands Thomas HStchcock and James L Kernochan John Harper Bonnell who has made nominations for the first time is a cousin of Fletcher Harper a gentleman rider who retired after meeting with a severe accident Other newcomers in the amateur field are Whitney Kernochan Dr E B Ackerman and Mrs Walter M Jeffords The last named will not be the only woman whose colors will be on the card on Saturday Mrs Payne Whitney has entered two new horses Royal Amlxir and Hiatus and Mrs C C Riimsey and Mrs A C Bluine are other society women who also have made entries
