KINGS PLATE AN UNCERTAIN AFFAIR The Kings guineas will he run for this year under circumstances unprecedented in more re ¬ spects than one and it is doubly unfortunate that general interest cannot be concentrated as in former seasons on a race which includes the host material that has furnished the Plate competition in a score of years If not in its whole history The year of tho great war finds Canadian brooders offering a lot of horses that represent the results of a steady improvement in the qualltv of their output So many good horses are found among the entries for this years race that the unique condition exists of practically no choice among about eight owners though this Is written only a week before the decision of the event and all of the prominent candidates were seen in action last soasou The winner may carry the colors of Messrs Dyment Seagram Hendrie Giddings Crew Millar Dolan or Krausmann and at this moment there is little to choose among them Francis Nelson in Toronto Globe
