AMERICAN FILLYS VICTORY AT CHESTER The fouryearold Americanbred filly Madame Iconise by Sombrero French and owned by cx jockev Otto Madilen won the Great Cheshire Stakes nt the Chester meeting May 0 at 10 to 1 In the betting A more famous American horse won this race when Pnrole captured it in 1S79 Madame Louise is a halfsister to that other good American bred racer Cheerful which has raced so well in important English races for two years past In connection with her victory London Sportsman of May 7 said The Cheshire Handicap won by Madame Louise yesterday is memorable not because the prefix great Is attached to It but because it was one of lie few races of importance Perdita II ever won this being a mare which perhaps more than any other has achieved a brilliant niche In the edifice of horse racing for she became the property of King Edward and bred for his majesty LI two Derby winners Persimmon and Diamond Jubilee to say nothing of Florizel II and Saudriug Bam
