MEN AND HORSES KILLED AND INJURED. Consignment from Latonia to Windsor Wrecked in , the Big Storm with Shocking Losses, Cincinnati. .. July 8. — The tornado which struck I Cincinnati la-t night wrecked three cars loaded with horses, killed three stable hands and damaged 1 the Latonia racing plant to the extent of .5. 000. Tie- wreck occurred on the Pennsylvania railroad at I Terrace Park, lifleen miles east of here. The horses s were on I heir way lo Windsor. Canada. The lien killed wen- I.i-nnv Kherson, white. Louisville. Curt t Ka-lev. colored. Nashville. Joe Allen, colored. Birmingham. Fourteen were injured and brought to the f Good Samaritan Hospital. Most of them were c stable hands. H. Louden, in charge of the Darden 1 string, has hands and legs bruised. K. R. Bradley and W. W. Harden are the chief f sufferers. Eleven horses are dead, six of which have e been identified and eight hoises are seriously injured. Those dead are Margaret ] ., Urick ami Mortar, lirigs Sister. White Wool. Little Father and Fitzgerald. Others have not been ideiititied. The injured are Messenger. Blind Baggage. Bundle Day. Blood Test, Far- and Stars. Bessie M.. Big to Da 0 and Cabrio. Blind Baggage is supposed to be tin e lust coll in the Bradley establishment. .lu-t ahead of the car-, which turned over ami 11 rolled down a ditch, was a sleeper in which were carl Gans, W. Hurley and other prominent horsemen. This car held fast to the rails. It is hardly likely that any of the hor-es in the a injured list will be able to race. Little Father was s dug out of the debris, but had to tie shol. The e rescued horses were -tabled in the Bobteson circus barns which were only a few yards from the scene of the wreck. The wind damaged the I.alonia racing plant to ,, • In extent of 5,900, according to General Manager r John tiachmeister. Portions of tin- roof of the i, clubhouse and grandstand were carried away. The e bridge over the lake in the intiehl was torn up and d nearly every stable was unrooted. The shelter shed d at the terminus of the car line came down. Some of the horses s quartered at the track were bruised but none seriously i- injured. , The office of the mutuel department was flooded, the skylights caving in before the terrilic wind. l] The handsome new office of the racing secretary was s uninjured. All communication between Latonia and Cincinnati i was cut IT and trainers living in Cincinnati were ,. compelled to walk live miles to get to their horses this morning.
