Livingstons string, in charge of trainer Mat Feakes. has been at Saratoga since June. Her two year-olds this season compare well in appearance with the best at Saratoga. Kate J. Martin. 468 Columbus avenue. New York City, is anxious to locate a man named William Cash, whom she has reason to believe is interested iu racing, or his connate, named McDermott. She writes that it would lie to the advantage of both to conuiiunicate with her. George Pratay, who foe many years has had charge of the Jockeys room on various Canadian and American tracks, is serving in the same capacity at DiilTerin Park. Iraley is a tirm believer in the association valet system ami has inaugurated this style for the tirsl time at Dufferin. Inder this system the riders do not know from day to dav who will he their valets. A reminder of the old racing days when gambling as well a- horse racing was rampant at Saratoga, is furnished by a poster announcing an auction there for next Tuesday. Auctioneer Fat McDon aid will offer the stable buildings of the late Charles Heed, situated on Hedlev avenue, west of the Belmont gale. There ale four stabLs with ten stails each. The annual fall racing meeting of the United Hunts Hacing Association will be held as usual at Belmont Lark Terminal, the dates selected for this -porting cross-country event being Saturday. Im portent steeplechases of considerable value will lie announced for each dav. the principal event being the 1nited Hunts steeplechase. Attachment proceedings against the thoroaahbred race horse Just Red and a restraining order to en lata the owner from disposing of the horse have been tiled at Louisville. Ky. against George H. Moreland by his wife, Clara Moretaad, who seeks 5 a week alimony. Mrs. Moreland does not ask for a divorce i ii her petition: she alleges her bus band willfully deserted her. and that he failed to provide for her. The horse, which she expects to pay the alimony for her, is now at Churchill Downs. At Heno last Saturday the Nevada Derby, a dash of a mile and an eighth for .oo0. was won by George W. Wingtields chestnut gelding Star Shooter in 1:84%, with Stolen Ante second and Gaao third. The race was viewed, it is claimed, by over 6,000 spectators. Trains unloaded hea delegations from Gotdaekl, Tonopafa and other points throughout the state. California was strongly represented. Many people motored over from Tahoe.
