ANOTHER STAKE FOR DODGE CARRIES TOP WEIGHT IN THE IROQUOIS HOTEL HANDICAP AND WINS CANTERING. Beau Pere and Yermak Prevail in Closely Contested Finishes Over a Heavy Track — Horsemen Scattering to Various Points. Fort Erie, august 7— The Kentucky colt. Dodge, added another to his list of victories in Canada when he won tile Iroquois Hotel Stakes, a handicap for two-year-olds at live and a half furlongs. The Iroquois was the feature of the half-holiday program Offered by the Niagara Racing Association at Fort Brie this aternoon and it brought out the best youngsters racing here. Dode shouldered top weight of 122 pounds, made all of the pace and, drawing away in the last quarter, won eased up by a half dozen lengths. Milestone bumped several of the horses in the jam at the half mile post and Cooper was forced to pull him mi until he was last of all. The third race on the original card, a three-quarters handicap, was declared off on account of withdrawals, due to changed track conditions following a rain which fell this snorunsg. A cheap selling race was substituted. The latter furnished a stirring contest, in which the first three passed the judges closely hunched. Beau Pans proved the winner over Lady London, which just beat out Parlor Boy. The opener, which was lor two year old-, also furnished a close finish, in which Yermak came from behind to beat Little Pigger In the dse-lag strides. Quite a number will return to Kentucky and Albert Minoti- will ship the division of the L. S. Thompson stable that he is training back to Belmont Park. Dr. Larrick will return to New York with Dr. J. Yesterday lie sold the two-year-old Port Light to J. J. Timmerinan. a Buffalo sportsman. Tha colt will be turned over to K. W. Moor. at Wiudsor. Mr. Moore is also training the good plater Pendcl for Mr. Timnierman. William Garth added another broodmare to his band when he secured the Piirgomaster — Irish Reel filly. Schnapps, from w. P. Peed. Iewis Garth traded the two-year-old Queen Apple for the filly. He will ship Schnapps to his farm at Charlottesville. Va.. when Tom Horn. Kxton and other jump ers are sent south on Tuesday next. The mare Emerald Gem, for which Mr. Garth traded the filly Oreetings a month or six weeks ago, is schooling well and promises to develop into a good fencer. There is no steeplechaser racing that has mora speed than Finerahl Gam and young Garth is swet ou her. Galmher Pros, have decided to ship their horses from here back to Kentucky and freshen them for the fall meetings. They have several yearlings at their farm which they wish to take up. Cynosures victory in yesterdays steeplechase was the lii-t that lie has scored in a couple of years. The next meeting of the Canadian Pacini: Ass.i-ciatii ns will be held in the clubhouse at Windsor ou the opening day of that meeting. A "killing" missed Ire when Tiajan was bentell in the opening race today. Had Stearns been aide to have kept the colt from swerving down to the inside rail in the last sixteenth he probably would have won.
