Eddie Whvte saddled the winner of the handicap for Canadian-foaled horses, when he sent Splutter to the post. Splutter won Impressively ov r Irish Heart and Marion Gaiety after coming from behind. K. J. Kelhy sold the plater H-.os I loo at private sale this morning to C. K. Belines. who will ship him to Dorvai Bark at the conclusion of this meeting. Jockeys II. Smith and 6. A large number of jumpers were schooled over tbe course this meming. There are at present more Jumpers here than ever have been stabled at the course and the sport has made a big hit with th--local supporters, old Caper Sauce, for many years a winner on the flat in Canadian-foaled dashes, has made hi- debut through the field. He schooled creditably for a first-time starter. Emerald lent and Faker, in the stable of Lewis Carth. were also schooled and both showed a tine turn of speed and a clean manner of taking the fences, A new mile track is tinder construction near Montreal and its management has announced an in tentieu of holding a meeting next month in conflict with Toronto. The new plant is situated one mile beyond Bine Bonnets, on the electric car line in the village of St. Laurent. A half-mile track is at present located there and this is being extended to the longer distance. The capital is solelv owned in Montreal and it is said Martin Nathanson has been appointed racing secretary. Bookmaking will prevail with the ring in charge of A. X. Elrod. The promoters claim that the track will be. modern in its appointments throughout and that a second meeting will take place Octolier 2."! to 30, which includes the Canadian Thanksgiving day. Tbe Laurel Stakes will lose tomorrow. Joseph McLennan reports that a liberal Bomber of noinina-i tions have been made from here and by owners stabled at Montreal. John H. Smyth came Up from Blue Bonnets today and took charge of his nephew, .jockey .1. Smyth. He reports that a divisioa of the w. P. Preagrave stable is at present on the course and consists main-i ly of Kings Blate and Nursery candidates, which are given daily work. Rustling was excused front starting in the opeti-1 ing dash this afternoon. She struck her knees iu her stall this morning, inflicting several bad cuts.
