; * • -4. EARNINGS OF THE BELMONT HORSES IN THE RACING OF THE PRESENT YEAR 1 4, i _4, j The respected chairman of the Jockey Club, A. Belmont, was the possessor of a good stable this year and. as a result, materially increased his stable earnings over his total of 2,640 for 1914. Priscillians half brother. Stromboli, was the star of the stable and one of the few horses ot the year which won more than ,0uO. Of his two-year-olds Friar Rock .did liest iu the way of money won and finished second to Mromlioli in that respect. He may turn out to be one of the stars of the three-year-old division of 1916. • Vsually the Rock Sands are not precocious and are likely to improve greatly over their two-year-old form in after years. Mr. Belmonts former champion, Rock View, developed such an unruly temper that he becalm? practically useless for racing and has been sent to the stud, where he should be successful.
